Morphology

  • Genetic Dreams Line Pastel x Genetic Dreams Piebald
  • Incomplete Dominant x Recessive

This designer morph is made up of two genes.

Pastel: The Pastel is an incomplete dominant or what many refer to as Co-Dominant mutation that produces a Ball Python that intensifies the yellow pigmentation to various degrees. High blushing, green or pale eyes, and white lips are also prominent features. All pastels at birth have faded heads but tend to darken up a bit as they get older although some still retain the fade. The pastel also possesses a very clean underside.  The homozygous or super form of the Pastel is a snake that usually retains its yellow coloration, has a more reduced pattern, a considerably faded head and extensive blushing throughout that often takes on a “purple-haze”. When breed to a normal 50% Pastels and 50% Normals. A Pastel bred to a Pastel will produce 25% Super Pastels, 50% Pastels, 25% Normals.

Genetic Dreams Line Pastel:   Appears to be a new gene  gene that  popped up in the Genetic Dreams line of Piebalds.  Appears to be Dominate at this time. Makes Piebalds really pop.

Piebald: Piebald is a recessive trait that is partially uunpigmented with variable color and pattern mutations.  Piebalds express an unusual cloud-like pattern unseen in any other base-morph. The amount of white is not indicative of its parents’ color.  For instance, a 90% white piebald bred with a 90% piebald, may not produce 90% white offspring.  The amount of white is typically a random occurrence.  Pieds are a color and pattern mutation with an aberrant body pattern while the head is typically normal looking. Although some have confused ringers with pieds, there are some distinct differences.
